Autumn Leaves and Love: Two DC grad students, a Berkshires family estate, Green Apple Weddings and the most wonderful friends and family, are a recipe for success for this down home wedding focused on fellowship and love. We adored planning and designing this minimalistic wedding that represented the couple’s kindness and care for those in attendance through a focus on guest experience and being environmentally conscientious throughout.

This weekend wedding had all the beauty of a rural Connecticut getaway and the intimacy of a family dinner. The couple welcomed their guests to the groom’s family home amidst rolling hills and autumnal foliage with a backyard barbecue where friends and family from far and wide could meet for the first time, or reconnect after time apart. After recharging overnight, everyone gathered around the couple to celebrate their love with vows of devotion in front of a beautiful arbor handcrafted by the couple. After cocktails on the lawn, the party moved under the tent for dinner and dancing. Friends and family kept warm with family knit blankets and bonfires long after the DJ ended her set. The couple and their guests were sent off with a casual but heartfelt brunch the next morning, and not even a little (okay, a lot) rain could damper the still high spirits and overflowing warm fuzzy feelings in the air.
